Sherborne Girls Girls-U14B vs  King's College, Taunton

Venue: Away

On the back of our game on Thursday which whilst a well earnt draw against the oppositions A team, left us with plenty to work on and we had set some targets to try and exploit the width and height of the players in attack.

We did this in style from the first whistle scoring with only 40seconds on the clock. What a great start! The girls didn’t look back from there on, we successfully worked the ball out wide targeting our right defence to generate pace and an attack down the right wing. Angelina is making great strides in this role and was integral in many of the attacks.

Another goal before half time took us into the break in a very comfortable position, we were rarely troubled in defence with Lotta looking composed and in control at full back.

A third followed quickly after the break before a great strike was stopped on the line by a defenders foot and we were awarded a penalty stroke. A quick chat to see if anyone had done one previously and a lesson followed before Poppy confidently stepped up and scored her first goal for the team and Sherborne’s fourth.

The game was wrapped up with a great strike from Millie into the roof of the net securing Sherborne with a fine 5-0 victory. This concludes a great first half term for the side, it has been a been a pleasure to coach you so far and I look forward to more hard work and good skills after half term.

Well done to the whole squad!
