Match Report
Sherborne Girls 1st Team vs  King Edward's, Bath
On: Thursday, 18 Oct 2018
Venue: at Home

Today the SG team welcomed KES Bath, as today's match was round 1 of the English School Hockey competition, the girls were keen to end the half term with a slid team performance

During the first half the SG team applied lots of pressure onto the KES Team with some excellent play from the players in the central line positions (Milly, Christa and Tilly), unfortunately we were unable to convert these chances. All the girls were trying to work as a team to move the ball around the pitch to make space, but by doing this, it did leave some gaps and after a number of excellent saves from Annabel one did eventually get passed her. This goal seemed to give the SG team a bit of a kick start and as a result Alice was able to slot the ball pasted the KES keeper after a well worked move that started at the back then the ball was moved down the pitch through the midfield line until Alice scored.

The second half started with a higher tempo, as the girl wanted to raise their game and were keen to the next goal but unfortunately the ball hit Tilly in the body on the goal line and a penalty stroke was awarded and then scored making it 2-1 to KES with 10 minutes to go. The SG team went all out for the next goal but KES were able to catch us on the break and finished the game off with another goal and the final score was 3-l.
