Match Report
Sherborne Girls Girls-U15A vs  Westonbirt School
On: Saturday, 12 Jan 2019
Venue: at Home

The U15A's first match was against Westonbirt. We knew that this was going to be a tough fight but training went really well this week and we were able to put into practice our defensive strategies to great effect, dispossessing Westonbirt regularly with early contact. A strong performance particularly considering the lack of fresh mid-field legs and thanks to Lucy and Tills who stepped in to help. The final result was a win, 8-5

In U15A's second game our girls faced Malborough College. In quite windy and chilly conditions, it took the Sherborne Girls team a little bit of time to settle and although many aggressive drives were made into the fan in the first quarter, the subsequent shots were wide of the mark. Once settled, the Sherborne Girls displayed some hard mid-field running, good technical defence, and some structured offensive movement around the fan. Arabella L made some great saves for Sherborne Girls and she was voted the best Sherborne player by the opposition. Although Sherborne's winning score of 7-1 looks like the game was one-sided, Malborough did display some fine periods of play which, unfortunately for them, was held off by some strong Sherborne Girls defence
