Match Report
Sherborne Girls Girls-U18B vs  Marlborough & SHSK
On: Saturday, 28 Jan 2023
Venue: Away

We arrived at Marlborough and after a speedy warm-up, we got straight into our first match. We got off to a slower start due to people playing out of position and adjusting to new roles. This led to Marlborough scoring two goals in quick succession. Undeterred by the scoreline, we focused on cohesive defence and creating space in attack for shooting opportunities. After some powerful shots at goal, we were ahead 3-2. A last minute equaliser from Marlborough left the final score 3-3, with players of the match going to AJ for her drives on goal and Panda for creating multiple turnovers in midfield. We had the following match off and focused on staying as warm as possible before we went up against St Helen’s and St Katherine’s. The first half was 0-0 due to some incredibly strong defence and goalkeeping. Filled with determination to win, a dramatic second half ensued. With dynamic and aggressive attack we scored 4 goals and our consistent possession of the ball prevented the team from scoring many goals. A final score of 4-1 left us proud of our performance as a team and ready for match teas. Players of the match were Clemmie for impressive play in midfield and Tabby for her incredible saves in goal, especially since she had never played as goalie before.
