Despite last weeks loss to Millfield we have demonstrated real progress over the past couple of weeks, especially with our team shape and keeping possession of the ball.
Today highlighted our improvement with a fantastic first half of hockey against a strong Dauntsey's side who we lost to 0-4 last season. We started the game moving the ball at pace, utilizing the space by confident transfers around the back and attacking down a new channel. This resulted in three excellent first half goals seeing us going into half time 3-0. It was a warm day and we had opted for 4 quarters in this match.
In the final quarter we started to loose our shape as we got tired and gifted Dauntsey's a goal which spurred them on, quickly scoring a second to give us a nail biting final few minutes. We finally found some space down the right wing and created a great scoring opportunity to seal the game but unfortunately didn't manage to connect with a ball on the left post in front of goal. We hung on to win the game 3-2, a fantastic 3/4 of the match and a huge step up from last season. Well done!
