Match Report
Sherborne Girls West 1st Team vs  Leweston School
On: Saturday, 25 Nov 2023
Venue: at Home

A great game of hockey! Started off with Lewiston putting us under pressure with some early attacks. Honour made some great saves and the defence worked hard ensuring they didn’t score. We then got into the swing of things and had some opportunities to attack. The first goal coming from a fantastic passage of play starting from the defence, moving the bal to midfield and up to Serephina upfront who put it into the goal around the Lewiston keeper.

The girls gained confidence with this and scored another two goals from open play in a similar way to the first goal. Their fourth goal came from a short corner routine. The girls started to sit back a bit allowing Lewiston to attack us in the last couple of minutes resulting in them scoring 2 late goals.

Overall, the girls played some fantastic hockey with Annie controlling the middle and distributing the ball out of congestion. Sophia and Camille getting wide and Serephina working on her movement off the ball. Martha battled hard to win the ball and worked on her front marking. Millie who was still not feeling 100% played in both attack and defence showing her versatility. Finally Ottolie who made some wonder passes from defence opening up the game and giving us some great goal scoring opportunities.

Well done girls great effort.
