Captain’s report

Thursday’s match against Bryanston was a brilliant success, resulting in a 3-0 win! Goals were by Hatty S, Charlotte U, and Vicky P, all of which were team efforts with excellent communication between the striker and the midfield players. The defenders played an excellent game, keeping the ball up high on our site of the pitch. Special mention goes to Maddy LeCornu who now has a new found skill in Central defence for the team. Well Played everyone!

Coach’s viewpoint

Today was the chance to reap revenge on an away 2-0 defeat that defied logic as we had dominated the away game. The girls started as if their life depended upon it with great pressure and good attacking moves. Charlotte U opened the scoring midway through the first half to give us a well deserved 1-0 half time lead. The girls were reminded that we needed to keep up the tempo and hammer home our possession advantage. This was one of the best football matches i have seen the girls play over the last 3 years. Mandy Le C was outstanding as a sweeper with her distribution from our own third of the field and Charlotte C controlled the midfield with her vision and excellent pass decisions. We added a second after Vicky P had her shot stopped by their goalkeeper and the ensuing rebound shots and blocks was finally put home by Hattie S. The team rounded up this excellent performance when Charlotte C crossed the ball to set up Vicky P with a well placed side foot shot into the corner of the net.

A well deserved victory and a super performance by all. Well done
