Sherborne Girl’s 5th netball team travelled to Canford to play a competitive fixture. Due to injuries and illness the 5th team had no substitutes and the girls knew that they were going to have to work hard. The first quarter started well with the girls marking tightly and stepping in front of their players to intercept passes. After the first quarter the result was 6-6. SG were determined to win the 50/50 balls and drove into space at pace to become an option. At half-time SG we’re pulling ahead with a 11-9 lead. However, SG started to get tired and stopped stepping in front of their players and started to rely on overhead passes which got intercepted. SG lost possession of the ball and the result at the end of the third quarter was 18-15 to Canford. SG battled on and played some lovely passages of play but were unable to score. The final result was a 23-19 loss.
Player of the match were awarded to Bea and Alissa for their outstanding performance.
