Sherborne Girls U14A Girls vs  Marlborough College
On: Saturday, 28 Sep 2019
Venue: at Home

The U14A's started the warm up with great comeradery and a positive mindset for the match a head. From the first whistle the girls started putting lots of pressure on to the opposition. The opposition struggled to get the ball out of their own half due to the girls holding their positions and sticking to their responsibilities on the pitch when pressing the ball. This resulted in lots of turn overs and chances to score hitting the post and giving the Marlborough keeper lots of action in the first half. We managed to put in the goal with a great team effort moving the ball around the Marlborough team. 1-0 to Sherborne at half time.

The second half Malborough had a 10 minute stint of them attacking our goal where unfortunately for us they managed to put one passed us making it 1-1. The rest of the match the SG girls put heavy pressure on the opposition again with multiple opportunities to shoot and score but we couldn't quite get it in the goal with two goal line saves from the oppositions defenders and another one hitting the post again it just wasn't our day for getting goals.

The match finished 1-1 but it felt like a win for the girls because of how well the girls played and how much the possession the girls had throughout the match. Charlotte Usher and Eleanor Thomas got players of the match and well deserved with their attacking and defensive play.
