The 1st team played the first 35 minutes of this game with the 2nd team playing the second half in this friendly versus Canford. This was our 1st team's first game of the season and it showed as we lacked some of the basic qualities in the game.Passing was a bit wayward and possession given away too easily. Imogen C fought extremely hard to deter the quality that the opposition had but she was often outnumbered down the left hand side. We went 1-0 down when their best player was allowed to come inside and shoot forcefully from outside of the area to give our goalkeeper no chance. A second arrived form a corner when nobody dealt with the ball and it fell to am opponent at the far post to put it in the net.

In the second half our 2nd team took the lead when Aimee K stroked the ball past the oncoming goalkeeper. This was a good start to the second half and we could have gone 2-0 up when Simone A went through and just shot over the bar as the goalkeepr and defender pressured her.

The opposition had a number of chances and not dealing clearing the ball from a corner lede to Canford scoring and levelling the second half game. The got another a while later. The 2nd team played some good football at times and there a re a number of players who showed up really well.

In the end it was day when 1st and 2nd team all got play and a combined result of 1-4 was justified as the opposition had a number of technically good players.

We will need to revisit our passing and moving if we are to achieve better results. We also need to be more aggressive as a team and understand the position and role that each one has to play.
