Sherborne 2-0 Kings Bruton

Our first half started off a little rocky with the team being nervous to really go for the ball and attack, however as soon as the nerves where out of the way we started to see some lovely passing down the line as we started to use the skills we have been learning in our games lessons . There was some good defending by the back three and some great saves from goal keeper Tilly C. As the game progressed we saw some nice runs by Cici A and Lizzie L our two strikers and with some great passes from our midfielders. Charlotte P managed to score an amazing goal securing the lead for the first half.

During the second half we saw improvement in ball pace and structural spacings which allowed us to maintain the winning position and excel in possession of the ball. Unfortunately Charlotte P scored an offside goal, however Cici A managed to score, giving the team a confidence boost to motivate them to the end of the match. We finished the match extremely proud of ourselves, especially as for some this was one of their fist matches with this team and a huge congratulation to Cici A who was awarded player of the match.

Following the match, I have concluded that our focus point in training should be centered around throw ins and taking penalties so we can improve in these areas for upcoming matches. During the match we saw an improvement in ball pace over further distances and staying in formations, so we should continue to work hard and practice these as they made a massive impact on the quality of our playing skills.
